About Me: I have been a member of South Plains Day Home Association for 9 years and have served 4 years as Hospitality Chair, just re-elected for another year in this position.

When Texas Instruments closed their Lubbock facility, I evaluated my options for a new career. I saw a real need for quality childcare and decided that with my love for children, I would be a natural in the childcare profession. Eula's Daycare was born from there.

I currently have two part time assistants: Ruby Hooker and Mae Taylor. Together we have worked out a program that we feel addresses the basic needs of the young children in our care. With the infants we work on large muscle manipulation and providing a stimulating environment for their blossoming senses. 18 months and up we begin working on basic colors, sounds, recognizing body parts and animals. As they approach 2 years of age we begin with pre-academic skills: alphabet recognition and phonics, number recognition, colors, shapes. Fine motor skills are refined with activities like coloring and cutting. At this age, the computer may be introduced depending on the individual maturity level of the child. We also stress basic social skills that are needed to enter Kindergarten: sharing, getting along with their friends, manners etc.

In my spare time I stay busy with walking, bowling and going to the movie theater. I am an active member of Community Baptist Church.
